If it doesn’t ring true to you, then it’s not helpful and I wouldn’t let it bother you. The fact it really bothers you may be an indication that it is touching your shadow somehow. Being undermining doesn’t mean being rude, hateful, or even judgmental. It can be positive in some situations. Think, for example, about the generation that brought us Uber, DoorDash, and Amazon. In business terms we call them “disrupters.” Something new and positive came out of their disruption (undermining) because the old system was not serving people well anymore. I’d see the undermining ability as a superpower that you can use positively and negatively. Most people use their abilities for both noble and petty reasons, and if you sometimes use your superpower for selfish reasons, that just makes you human. The key here would be to become more conscious so you are aware of when you’re doing it (if you ever do it) and to use it purposefully when you do.
