I appreciate this site. Thank you.
Hi Celestina ! 😉
Hopefully you can give me a little bit more clarity in terms of accuracy of the True node. From my understanding the True node like the mean node is not always correct either and ascertaining the exact astronomical position is difficult. Someone on another forum described it to me the following way:
“The difference in calculation of the True Node and the Mean Node are similar to the True and Mean Black Moon Lilith.
I have understood that the indication “true” is misleading. The true node and black moon lilith are calculated directly using the trigonometric formulae that describe the motion of a two-body system, like for example the Jupiter-Sun interaction. However, the Moon is part of a three-body system Earth-Moon-Sun, so the calculation of these “true” points are controversial. Some say that the motions of the true black moon lilith are an artifact of the use of this wrong trigonometry.
After I read about this controversy I switched to Mean Node immediately.”
The reason I’m asking is because I work a lot with Draconic Astrology and the Node, of course determines the position of the planets, moon & sun in a Draconic chart. Is there a way when I do a calculation for a specific date to determine the exact zodiac position ?
Thanks so much Celestina !
I’m afraid my response will be somewhat of a disappointment. I don’t have a good mathematical reason for using one method over another. My thinking along these lines has always been to use what is most practical, what works best. In many cases, I don’t know that birth certificates are exactly accurate anyway, so when something seems to work better a few degrees one way or the other, I think it’s okay to make that adjustment and don’t worry too much about it. It’s definitely more art than science, in my opinion. I understand you’re saying a lot rides on the calculation of the node for the chart you want to cast. Maybe you’ll just have to do trial and error — cast the chart both ways and see what fits best — before you come up with the system you’re convinced is consistently better. I can only say as an astrologer that we all struggle with these sorts of judgment calls and the only way to get better is to just keep practicing — cast a lot of charts and get a lot of feedback. Thank you for visiting the site.
Hi Celestina and thank you.
A friend recommended your site and I am so grateful! I am new to all of this and I would like to know how to determine one’s North Node House (figured out the North & South Node signs – Taurus / Scorpio with your chart) with the following birth information: April 25 1967 NY, NY with an approximate birth time of 10:00am. Thank You, Susan
Hi, There’s a node chart on the site, although it can be difficult to find. Here’s the direct link: https://truenode.org/node-chart/
Hello, great site but totally wrong about the north node in the 11th. I love my children ( 3) dearly and all are healthy and grown up now. Maybe beat to not be so dogmatic as the south node always needs to be intergrated to get to the north. raising My children helped me get to my goals as a teacher and writer for young adults
Thanks!
HI Celestina ! I was hoping you could help me with a question. I was wondering what the North Node would be for the year 1850. The reason for my question is that I have read and own Jan Spiller’s book “Astrology for the Soul” and have found out that I am an Aquarius North Node, being born on April 15, 1971. During a hypnosis session for past life regression the year 1850 popped into my head, no voice just a thought. According to Jan Spiller’s book, Aquarius North Nodes have a South Node in Leo from a past life and I’m hoping to verify that 1850, the year I suspect I was born in in this past life, falls under the sign of Leo North Node. Even if you could refer me to some charts that go back that would be great!
Thanks!
Pretty! This has been an incredibly wonderful article.
Many thanks for supplying this information.
Hi Celestina-
Your work is the most amazing/accurate and interesting that I have read on the North Node-
Amazing!! Thank-you-
I am very depressed, however, because I have a Libra North Node- I have suffered loneliness, isolation, and deep depression in my adult life– I could never be as “happy” and free as those with Scorpio North Node- a year before me- but I could never understand why — I thought they were just better than me– Anyway can you shed ANY light on what is positive about Libra north node- I would appreciate anything—I”ve been my own worst enemy since I graduated high school– Thank-you!
Thank you for the words of encouragement you left on the site. One gift you have is the ability to energize others to achieve their goals, and your notes certainly gave me some very positive energy indeed. There’s one thing you can do right there that’s positive, and it’s something you may not even be aware that you do.
I have no idea how old you are, but one thought I had in response to your question is that people with this node placement tend to get happier with age. You say that you’ve been lonely, isolated, and depressed all your adult life. I am sorry to hear it, but don’t forget that many others also feel lonely, isolated, and depressed. It’s part of being an adult if you really face life head on. So, congratulations on being real. I am sincere in saying that.
Of course, there are degrees of feelings, and your isolation, loneliness, and depression may be at a much deeper level than others. No point in making comparisons or me trying to gainsay it. Your chart may be set up with longer cycles of happiness and sadness rather than shorter ones, and that may mean it’s longer between the good and happy periods. That’s tough.
I have come to think of the times in my life when it’s dark and I feel absolutely stuck and alone as being in the birth canal. It’s very, very, hard, but eventually comes the labor pains and out you pop into a whole new reality. Never fails. That is what I see for you.
Your words brought to mind Isak Dennisen (Karen Blixen), who is said also to have had this placement. She had such an amazing life with so many interesting experiences. I admire her greatly. Yet she, too, was alone, often heartbroken, and I think very sad for a lot of her existence. The rough edges smoothed as she aged, however, and I think she came in the end to really be comfortable with and respect herself, which I’m convinced is the only solace of growing older. I have no doubt that you are and will continue to be an authentic person who is in touch with her feelings and seeks to be genuinely connected to others. It is not easy to be a “real” human being. That is an acheivement right there.
Here’s something to be really encouraged about, in my opinion: You can have a successful partnership. You can! You should! When you sacrifice for others, put their needs first, really attempt to meet them in the middle, you should get a lot of good feedback. Things should fall into place. Some people can do all that and still end up jilted at the altar. You should reap a great reward.
Hope this helps, and thank you again for your kind words of encouragement.
Hi Celestina-
I am resending because I don’t know if the first one went through-
I appreciate you so much- and I am so happy to know that i have potential for partnership I am 56 years old. One thing I have learned is, it is not as scary for me as it seems to be, for others, to be alone. But life does seem richer when it is genuinely shared. I love your work and I think you are fascinating. Thank you for what you do—
I agree (about life being richer when shared), although it’s nice to know you’re okay in the world alone, too. If I have helped in some way, I am grateful.
At 56 you are probably going through your second Saturn Return (or about to go through it). That’s a huge big deal. Have you been to the Saturn Return site? You might find that helpful: http://www.yoursaturnreturn.net/.
And yes, you have helped!
Do you ever share your North node??
Another Saturn Return-
Oh no!!
I turn 57 years old on November 10th this year-I will check out the site!
Thanks!!
Thanks again Celestina-
I am checking out the 2nd Saturn Return-
it looks like it is more like 58 to 60 years- I am only 56 but maybe it starts now??
Thanks–
Hi Celestina!
I wrote you an e-mail to ask you some questions.
Thank you!
Does north node in Taurus at 29 degrees and south node in scorpio at 29 degrees indicate great wealth or bankruptcy in natal chart
Hi, I believe that 29 degrees Taurus is a fixed star, the Pleiades. You may want to google that and read more about it. So far as signifying great wealth or bankruptcy, I am not aware of that association.
Hello Celestina
great site, great work
are you doing individual readings??
I send a message to the email given.
John
Thank you so much for your interest. I’m on hiatus from readings for a while.
Brilliant site
I was in the right place to find this site as my energies are high and I love to learn .. Midheaven in Sag!!
I have resonated so much with what you have said about NN in cancer in the 5th house , have you written any books and have you got a FB page
I’m glad you enjoyed the site! No books — yet 🙂 There is a Facebook page we set up called “True Node.” You might also be interested in signing up for the newsletter.
Since you do not do readings, do you recommend a north node astrologer who does? And/or do you recommend any books or material to read about nodes? Your site is the best description of nodes I have found, but I’d like to understand nodes even more, as I see it’s influence in my life more clearly then anything else in my chart. My north node is conjunct MC on 9/10th house cusp conjunct uranus in Scorpio. I relate to both aspects of 9th and 10th house north node placements, but not all of each. The scorpio north node makes a lot of sense for me and I see how I have lost, let go and transformed, but how that relates to 9th/10th house plus the uranus conjunction is something I’d like to piece together. Thank you!
Cat, Thank you for the kind words. I like Jan Spiller’s work a lot, though I don’t think any of her books deal specifically just with the nodes. Generally speaking, however, her attitude about using the energy of your chart for success is the one I was raised on, so whatever she’s talking about I have always found supportive. If you aren’t familiar with Michael Lutin, you should check him out. There is out there somewhere — and why he doesn’t have it available on his website anymore, I don’t know — a digital recording of a wonderful lecture he has on the Nodes. Should you happen to come across that, snatch it up. He’s so wonderfully entertaining and very insightful. Martin Schulman’s book _Karmic Astrology, Volume 1: The Moon’s Nodes and Reincarnation (Karmic Astrology)_ is profound, and a lot of material from my site echoes his for good reason.
I agree with your numerology report. I am working as an astrologer for last 15 years. I want to know a little about Numerology. Please tell where can I learn basic of numerology or stage 1
