Nancy R. Fenn wrote the sections on Zodiac Sun Sign Traits, Zodiac Compatibility and the meaning of the first and second Saturn Return.

Nancy Fenn was a full-time astrologer and psychic who lived and worked in San Diego, California. As a professional astrologer and Tarot card reader, Nancy guided thousands of individuals, from the most humble to the extremely successful, and was trusted for her wisdom, honesty, and tact. She believed in astrology as a philosophical system that explains the mysteries of life, reveals the underlying patterns of our existence, and illuminates the darkest corners of the psyche.

Nancy’s studies began with astrologer Jan Spiller, but from then on she was mostly self-taught, heavily influenced by the works of Martin Shulman and Liz Greene, as well as Rob Hand and Erin Sullivan. Her knowledge exceeded the academic, however, for Nancy learned from experience with her clients the relationship between astrological cycles and the significant events of people’s lives. She was nationally recognized as an expert on Saturn Returns and wrote extensively on current events from an astrological perspective in her blog.  In addition to being a master astrologer, Nancy was well versed in Jungian psychology, alchemy, and other mystical traditions. 

The last years of Nancy’s life were spent tending to her thriving astrology practice: listening patiently to others’ sufferings, providing guidance and insight when her expertise was sought, offering emotional support in the most trying moments of people’s lives, and bearing witness to their suffering. This, she felt, was the highest use of her natal Saturn in Cancer. She was also a mentor to several new members of the field. In supporting others, she took great comfort herself. Nancy died in 2013.

At the knee of her mother, Celestina learned the language of astrology, devouring almost as soon as she was old enough to read the works of Linda Goodman, Richard Idemon, Martin Schulman, and Michael Lutin. In addition to the Zodiac, Celestina also studied in depth the Tarot and white magic, seeing a connection between astrology and other occult teaching.

From the age of 18, Celestina was managing one of the first psychic lines, teaching others how to read Tarot, and doing readings herself. By 23, she was co-owner of a metaphysical bookstore, where she worked her way through college and graduate school, an opportunity that gave her the daily privilege of speaking with people about their spiritual practices – both New Age and occult – and where she witnessed many journeys of recovery, growth, rebirth, and awakening.

In her adulthood, Celestina came to see astrology as a symbolic language of karma. She believes that studying the natal placements may lead us to a deeper understanding of our life path. She has seen how identifying the limits and possibilities encoded in the birth chart has helped many to find peace, happiness, and fulfillment.
